The first of three drawings and Gay wins boat #1..The Eddyline Fathom
Congrats to Gay Fawcett!!! She is the winner of the first of three boats to be raffled off this year. The Olympic Kayak Club sends a special thanks out to Eddyline for working with us on this and helping us to make this raffle possible as well as The Seattle Police Foundation for helping us with the paddle. Gay, we love ya and have fun with that new boat. For those that didn't win, there are still two boats left so this thing isn't over by a long shot.

The club will be having an all level paddle this Saturday, July 24th. We will launch at 9:00 am from the Brownsville Marina and just paddle the shore toward Keyport. We might stop for ice cream at the Keyport Store:) We will not be going far, nor will we go fast, this is an easy-enjoy the day paddle. See you then. David
Puget Sound Challenge Segment 5
What a great day we ended up with on this one. Wonderful sun and views of the big Mountain. The paddle was very calm going south but our return trip things picked up enough to make for a more spirited paddle. How about those rolers on the return at the Northern most point of Vashon? All in all the paddle was 15.2 nautical. That 17.5 statute. See you folks at the Seattle Police Foundation paddle.
Seattle Police Foundation Paddle June 12, 2010
Some of you may have gone to the Seattle Police Foundation web site and noticed they have the wrong route posted for the paddle on the 12th. I have spoken to Renee and they are going to get that corrected. The information on this site is correct. The paddle will be on Lake Washington, starting at 9:00am or as soon as we get everyone registered:) I will also be posting more information concerning where we will meet at Magnusson Park as soon as I get that info from the Foundation. I know it will be by one of the pavillions, and I think that is by the big parking area.

Returning kayaker
I am coming back to kayaking after a 15-year layoff. I went to the Outdoor Equipment Show in Port Gamble and got inspired by all the kayaks.
I went home and got my trusty Pacific Water Sports Sea Otter Expedition out of the garage and cleaned it up.
Now I'm ready to get my paddles wet again, but want to not jump in too deep. Anyone up for a leasurly paddle this Saturday morning (5/22) out of Port Gamble or Poulsbo?
Thanks.
